Some additional information
Student conference is scheduled for end of May 2009. We plan to present IPS students' research work to industrial partners. Among the invited companies are BSH, Cosylab, Domel, ETI, Gorenje, Kolektor Group, Luka Koper, Poteza, Premogovnik Velenje, Salonit, Slovensko zavarovalno združenje, Talum, Telekom, Termoelektrarna Šoštanj, Trimo, Unior - and also other companies, such as Acroni, Krka, Lek, BIA.
The aim of the conference is mainly
- to establish (personal) contacts between young researchers and industrial partners;
- to get to know the needs of industrial partners;
- to present our knowledge and research work and to estimate the practicability of our research for industrial applications;
- promotion of students with future employers;
- stimulation of joint research projects between industrial partners and IPS students.
The conference will be a 2-day poster session, the posters will be displayed at the Jozef Stefan Institute. We will invite representatives form industry (human resources managers as well as researchers), and also others. If you have some wishes as to whom to invite, please let us know.
Call for Papers
Students are invited to present their work in a short abstract paper not exceeding 1 page (A4 format) and a poster size A1, written in English or Slovene. A sample poster is available here.
We will also publish a Book of Abstracts, where every participant is entitled to two A4 pages in black and white: one page can be an abstract, while the other page can be the poster itself.
The Book of Abstracts will be sponsored by IPS, as will the posters size A1 - so there is no need to worry about finances for the poster!

Poster Guidelines
Please follow the instructions below closely:
- Poster size is A1 ( 594 x 841 mm).
- All posters should have IPS header.
- Author should put the following information on the poster: name, surname, school, programme, mentor, and author's picture.
- All posters are required to conform to portrait orientation.
- Prof. Kornhauser recommends that the poster is divided in scientific and application part.
- Posters should be clear and easy to read. Type size should be sufficiently large to allow people to read from 2 meters.
Oral Presentation Guidelines
We will organize a meeting with prof. dr. Aleksandra Kornhauser in order to get useful information about the
presentations of posters and themes. The meeting will be on Monday (18. 5.) at 16.00 in Physics seminar room.
The metting is canceled.
Submission
The authors should submit their files in Word or PDF format by e-mail to kristina.elersic@ijs.si with corresponding author`s name, surname, study programme, and study year, not later than April 24th, 2009 May 4th, 2009.
Schedule
The conference will be held on the Jožef Stefan Institute. On Tuesday (19.5.) it will be opened from 11.00- 16.00 and on Wednesday (20.5.) it will be opened from 13.00 - 16.00. Students are invited to prepare posters and presentations of their work.

Best poster awards
The winners of the prestigious "IPSSC best poster award", selected amongst more than 30 posters presented by students at the 1st IPSSC are Ita Junkar (Plazemska obdelava polimrerov), Brigita Rožič (Kritična točka v tekočekristalnih elastomerih), Aleš Bizjak (Nanos spektralno selektivnih premazov za fasadne solarne sisteme), and Ines Bračko, Urban Došler and Mojca Žnidaršič (Predstavitev mladih raziskovalev Odseka za raziskave sodobnih materialov).
May 20, 2009:
Prize Draw Winner
Ljubljanski Univerzitetni Inkubator, a sponsor of the IPSSC Conference, hosted a prize draw for a free workshop on topic Business Researcher. The lucky winner was Mojca Žnidaršič. Congratulations!
